At the beginning, there is no separation of roles. I was taking enquiries and bookings, organising advertising and photography, testing, learning and integrating software systems from scratch, coordinating maintenance and tradies, handling trust accounting and disbursements, dealing with owners directly, and making sure nothing broke along the way.

There was no handover between roles. There was no “that is someone else’s department”.

There was just the business.

And that forced a level of understanding I did not realise I was building at the time.
